Live Music tonight by Kevin Moon, guitar player.
Kevin Moon started his musical career in third grade playing the clarinet, switched to the piano in middle school, played banjo through high school, and finally found his true musical path when he took up the guitar as a freshman in college. Since that time he has spent 20 years playing in bands and another decade (or so) as a solo artist. His current shows consist of original material he calls chamber rock interspersed with selected covers of favorite pieces. He also builds his own guitars, restores the vintage tube amps he plays, and in his current “real” job he's a synthesizer designer.
New Art by: Jean Schwalbe
"Jean's impressionistic paintings become almost a surprise to the viewer as the colors are not what one would expect to find in a landscape. Jean captures energy by pushing the color palette to rich, warm and vivid hues. Originally a watercolorist who studied under George Hamilton, Jean has been painting acrylics for the past ten years. They give her more "freedom" and using "lots of paint is more fun". And it is certainly more fun for the viewer! Whether painting rushing streams and rivers, familiar Oregon mountains, meadows, clouds or all of the above together, she captures a special intensity and vitality found in nature."
