Originally from south Florida, Flemming has been a professional musician for more than 30 years winning numerous songwriting and "Best of" awards for her jazzy, bluesy sound. Marianne is known as a fine singer, composer and guitarist. She has opened for many national acts including Donavon, Taj Mahal and Roger McGuinn of the Byrds. Marianne has toured the United States, Europe and the Caribbean.
From The Bluebird Café in Nashville, to The Bitter End in New York and Seattle's Folk Life stage, Marianne has appeared on many stages across the country. Her recorded music has been played on radio stations around the world.
After spending 10 years in Madison Wisconsin, Marianne added family and children to her proudest of accomplishments. Currently, residing in SW Washington, Marianne balances her day job as a special education teacher, mother to two teenagers and music obsession with mostly a smile.
Marianne provides specially designed music for assisted living facilities, weddings, clubs and other special events. She will work with the client to establish a set list that best fits the needs of the client and their event. Marianne performs classic songs from the 1920’s to present. Some of the artists she covers are Patsy Cline, Nancy Sinatra, Peggy Lee, Anita O’Day, Dionne Warwick, Nirvana, Hank Williams and many more! In addition, she gives private lessons in guitar, music theory, performance, beginning mandolin, piano and bass.
