First Friday Downtown Celebration!

First Friday Downtown Celebration is a time for friends to come together. Joins us at the winery for live music, new art, dinner and wine! We’re excited to welcome for the first time the Dana Rohlfs and Jake Rust duo. Music starts around 6! Our featured artist of the month is Chef Kim’s aunt, Jean Schwalbe. Jean has over 70 years of experience painting. Her landscape paintings show off her talents with a palette knife. Her art is on loan to us from Attic Gallery. All pieces are for sale. For wine service today we’re offering glass pours, open bottle purchases, growler fills and half carafes. See our Spanish Paella dinner menu below! Food services starts at 5pm.

Live Music by: Dana Rohlfs and Jake Rust duo!

“We are Dana and Jake. Dana was born in Mexico City and has been living in Washington for the past 5 years. Jake is from Camas and together we like to interpret different styles of music such as Latin American Folk and a variety of other styles in English as well. We like to mix things up. As artists we enjoy multiple styles of music. We plan on showing our audiences that beyond language barriers, there is still room to expand musical taste.”

Our featured local artist this month is Jean Schwalbe, landscape painter. Check out her art through the end of the month. All pieces are for sale. Read further to learn more about Jean:

"Jean's impressionistic paintings become almost a surprise to the viewer as the colors are not what one would expect to find in a landscape. Jean captures energy by pushing the color palette to rich, warm and vivid hues. Originally a watercolorist who studied under George Hamilton, Jean has been painting acrylics for the past ten years. They give her more "freedom" and using "lots of paint is more fun". And it is certainly more fun for the viewer! Whether painting rushing streams and rivers, familiar Oregon mountains, meadows, clouds or all of the above together, she captures a special intensity and vitality found in nature."
