Showing Roxanne Fawcett's Art

We are currently showing Roxanne Fawcett at Burnt Bridge Cellars. She is inspired by the vast colors, shapes and textures of nature. You may remember her beautiful horse paintings from last summer!

Roxanne has a background in residential design, and works to express herself creatively in all aspects of her day to day life. She paints a variety of scenes including stills of fruit, animals in flight, horses galloping and even landscapes. Her use of bold colors and textures makes her work stand out.

VSAA Fundraiser

VSAA Fundraiser

This year the chamber orchestra at VSAA has been accepted to perform in the WorldStrides competition in Anaheim, CA. The orchestra program has grown just north of 200% over the past six years and has won several local competitions; including Silverwood in Idaho and the Western Washington Orchestra Festival in Bellingham. They are ready for this next big step of performing in a national competition and have worked so hard to get to this point. Students will also get to perform in and enjoy the Disneyland park when we travel in April.

This is our time planning and fundraising for a trip of this magnitude. We are trying to raise at least $20,000 this year to help make the trip affordable for all students. With the help of some amazing parents, we developed and launched a booster club not only for purposes of this exciting trip but to also help support all the art forms at VSAA. Having the booster also allows us to throw some fun and exciting new events, which leads me to the following invitation:

On Sunday, October 8th from 6-9PM, we are hosting a fall fundraiser called Sips and Serenades! Burnt Bridge Cellars in downtown Vancouver has graciously donated their space for us to enjoy an evening of music and wine together. It will be a small event of about 50 patrons. On the outdoor patio we will have auction items, most notably tickets to see Brett Goldstein (from Ted Lasso) performing at the Keller and tickets to see Cypress Hill with The Oregon Symphony. We have local bakeries donating gorgeous desserts for raffle prizes. The evening will also feature performances by VSAA alumni. Graduates are traveling from such universities as WWU, PLU, UPS, UP, and more! I am most looking forward to guests seeing how VSAA has created lifelong musicians and music lovers.

The VIP tickets reserve guests a seat at a table for the entire evening. Regular tickets will not include seating. The ticket grants you entry to the event, your first full pour of either red, white, or rosé, and light hors d'oeuvres prepared by Burnt Bridge Cellars. More glasses of wine can be purchased throughout the evening if you desire! You can purchase tickets online: https://sips-and-serenades.cheddarup.com
